Per March 2016 however, the gallery has been closed and the collection has been moved online. Of course, the collection can still be seen on appointment. Please email info@marcelgieling.nl or call me at +31(0)6 222 46 032. You are mostly welcome.

I am specialised in 20th century paintings. Especially art created between 1900 and 1960 has my special attention. Besides paintings my collection also includes works on paper, sculptures and fine art photography.

Besides my activities as an art dealer I also publish about art, including monographies on Gerard Hordijk (1899-1958) and Jan Rodrigo (1921-2013). In 2014 the book ’50 Utrechtse kunstenaars in beeld’ was published, containing interviews with 50 artists living and working in Utrecht. I write for De Utrechtse Internet Courant (DUIC).

2008 Monography about the painter Gerard Hordijk 1899-1958
2012 Monography about the painter Jan Rodrigo 1921-1958
2014 '50 Utrechtse Kunstenaars in Beeld'
2017 'Gerard Hordijk, buurman en vriend van Piet Mondriaan'
Since 2013 blogger and art critic for De Utrechtse Internet Courant (DUIC)
Several publications in: Art & Living, Eigen Huis & Interieur, DoeHetZelf en Collect
De Utrechtse Internet Courant: De geheimen van Sint Barbara (column)

In order to sell art, I also need to buy art. Should you wish to sell an object, please do not hesitate to contact me. Perhaps I can advise and negotiate on your behalf.

Three generations of art dealers preceeded me; my great-grandfather, my grandfather and later my father were Utrecht-based art dealers. Later, my father moved to Doorn. My grandfather was granted the royal ‘Hofleverancier’, or By Her Majesty’s Appointment. He often sold art to the Dutch Royal family.

I do business with, among others, Centraal Museum Utrecht, Spoorweg Museum Utrecht, Rolling Stones Museum Engeland, Museum De Fundatie Zwolle, Museum De Wieger Deurne, Mondriaan Huis Amersfoort, Rijks Museum (prentenkabinet) Amsterdam, National Gallery Singapore, Het Utrechts Archief, Museum Drachten and Museum Flehite in Amersfoort.
