About the artist

Amal Saade is a contemporary Lebanese mixed media artist and an art history teacher at the LAU & Alba in Beirut. She creates installations and video installations. Between 1987 and 1992 she studied design and painting in Rio de Janeiro. Next, she went to France where she enrolled in the École Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She studied Multimedia Installations in the workshops of Annette Messager, Barbara Leisgen and Mona Hatoum. After living in France, Brazil and Germany, Amal Saade came back to Lebanon. She loves travelling and is especially interested in urban and territorial themes. These subjects can be found in her projects ”Beirut – Rio – Paris” and “Beirut – Havana”. She has had various exhibitions in Brazil, Lebanon, France (Paris, Marseille), United States (New York), Germany (Berlin) and Italy (Milano).
