Bjarne Melgaard often described as ‘one of Norway’s most important artists since Edvard Munch’. The contemporary artist works en lives in New York City in sculptural assemblage. His works varies from paintings, videos and mixed media works. Themes of substance addiction, sexuality and self-destruction are leading in his work. His work that depicts a black woman on her back while a white woman sits on the cushion of her thighs also know as his notorious fiberglass sculpture Chair (2014) is among his most famous work.
