About the artist

Originally Charles Lapicque (Fr.1898-1988) was an engineer, from 1926 he decided to devote himself completely to painting and drawing, he became a very successful painter and graphic artist. He painted and drew animals, landscapes, abstract work, religious scenes and even athletes. Truly a fairly diverse oeuvre in which he also engraved, decorated and illustrated.

He had an innovative and innovative way of working.

He won several major prizes such as the 'Prix Raoul Dufy', 'Prix Venice Biennale' (1953) and the 'Grand Prix National de Peinture' (1979). His work is currently very popular, especially in France, and his work is part of numerous major museum collections worldwide.
