About the artist

Cornelis Koppenol was born in Zoetermeer in 1865, he died in The Hague in 1946. He had been studying at the art academy for 6 years. He lived in The Hague, Delft, Rijswijk and Nunspeet. During his youth he worked at “De Porceleyne Fles” in Delft. Cornelis Koppenol was a painter who made watercolours, drawing and etchings. He produced portraits, still lives and farmhouse interiors. He also was a painter of historical buildings. Cornelis Koppenol taught at the art academy in The Hague. His work is included at the Haags Gemeentemuseum and Rijksmuseum Kröller-Muller in Otterlo.
