Dale Roberts was born in Australia in 1972.
He is an Australian artist, specializing in the usage glass.
He graduated with a BA First Class Honours in Applied Arts - Ceramics and Glass from the University of South Australia.
Besides developing his own bodies of work as a glass artist he works as a Technical Assistant at the JamFactory Contemporary Craft and Design facility in Adelaide.
In his work he focuses on the structural elements of any given object, particularly the manner in which layers of material can reveal or conceal the foundations beneath the surface. He finds inspiration for instance in a piece of framework on a commercial building uncovered for repair. The layers in his objects reflect the framework and the outside skin resembles the facade of the building. He uses the nature of glass to evoke a curiosity about how the structure of the object was made.
The work of Dale Roberts is exhibited in Australia and Europe and is part of many private collections. He was a Ranamok Glass Prize finalist in 2007 and 2012.
