About the artist

Georges Lambillotte was a Belgian impressionist painter. After he lived in Brussels for some time, he settled in Godinne in 1955. He was trained at the Academy of Namur and Brussels under Alfred Bastien and Frans Smeers. In Namur he exhibited in 1934 and 1937. He had a preference for landscapes of the Ardennes but also painted portraits and still lifes. In Godinne he found his inspiration in the valley of the Meuse.
