Biography1798 - 1824
About the artist
Handley & Moore was a partnership between clockmakers George Handley and John Moore of Clerkenwell Close, based in London. They were well-known clockmakers working from 1798 until 1824. In 1824, George Handley died, after which Moore continued alone.
They made and supplied many movements and clocks to the top grade makers of that period and used distinctive features, such as the style of border engraving to the backplate.
