Henk van Putten is a sculptor who was born in 1936 in Amsterdam. In 1948 he attended the Technical School Amsterdam Holland. Working as a designer at various studios during the fifties, he travelled through Spain and Morocco in 1959. After setting up his own Consultancy Agency, he moved to Ibiza in 1970, working as a freelance artist where he exhibited in Gallery Vandervoort. In 1972 he returned to the Netherlands and continued as freelance designer. He married Agnus Gastmans in 1973, continuing his work as freelance sculptor, and moved to Amsterdam in 1976. In 1980 he set up Gallery Ärt Stable and the first edition of Art Stable review was published in the same year. He
made a study trip to India in 2001 and regularly explored this country between 2002 and 2004. In 2005 he took up permanent residence in Auroville, India.
