About the artist
Izaak Jansz. de Wit (1744–1809) was a Dutch artist best known for his engravings. Born in Amsterdam, he developed his practice within the rich printmaking tradition of the Dutch Republic, producing works that reflect the precision, craftsmanship, and visual clarity associated with eighteenth-century engraving. He later lived and worked in Haarlem, where he also died in 1809.
