Jacob de (I) Gheyn

Jacob de Gheyn I was a Dutch artist who specialized in miniatures and glass painting. He presumably also designed stained-glass windows in Amsterdam and Antwerp, however none of these remain. The trait was passed on through the family as De Gheyn’s son, Jacob de Gheyn II, and grandson Jacob de Gheyn III also became very famous draughtsmen and painters. The etchings and drawings of Jacob I are often attributed to Jacob II, making his remaining works therefore wat remains is typically rare.
