He settled Clery street and Montorgueil street and finally the Cossonerie street in Paris. He was quickly known for its various furniture often simple enough on an aesthetic level but always gracious and manufactured with the greatest care. He was known for his chairs, of styles, Louis XV or Louis XVI, often without any ornament but considered as the embodied refinement. He retired from business in 1775.
Although his production was certainly rather consequent, most of his furniture were lost or destroyed during the last centuries. Nowadays we only know few examples of furniture of Jacques Malot.
