Jan Homan was a Dutch painter. As a fourteen year old boy, he came into contact with artists who fled the German fascism and came to Hoorn. Later, Homan took lessons with the Impressionist Carl Faringer, who also stayed in Hoorn. After going to the Art Academy in Amsterdam for a short period, Homan developed into a Expressionist painter. Later on, his work became more abstract. From 1962 on, he exhibited with members of the COBRA group like Appel and Corneille. Homan called himself an Abstract-Expressionist painter. He has exhibited his work across Europe.
