Léon Richet (1847, Solesmes, France – 1907, Fontainebleau, France) was a French painter. He took drawing and painting lessons from Ambroise Détrez at the Écoles Académiques in Valenciennes. He continued his education at the Académie Julian in Paris, where he studied under Jules Lefebvre and Gustave Boulanger. He also cooperated with the famous Barbizon painter Narcisse Virgilio Díaz. Richet travelled a lot and painted landscapes in Auvergne and seascapes in Tréport. In 1869 he had a show in the Salon of Paris, and from 1880 to 1906 he exhibited at the Société des Artistes Français. He participated in the World’s Fair in Paris in 1900. A number of his paintings are in Musée d’Orsay in Paris.
