Oene Romkes de Jongh was born in Makkum (Friesland) in 1812 and died in Amsterdam in 1896. He is known for his detailed city views. He was influenced by Cornelis Springer.
He mainly painted city scapes of Amsterdam and harbors around the Zuiderzee (nowadays IJsselmeer, the Netherlands ).
