About the artist
Raphael de Buck (1902, Ghent – 1986, Ghent), also called Raf de Buck, was a Belgian painter, aquarellist and illustrator. He was the son of the artist Leonard de Buck. Raphael studied under George Minne at the Academy in Ghent. De Buck is noted for his paintings of nude women, bar girls, ballerina’s, gipsies and still-lifes.
