About the artist
Theo Mackaay is a Dutch sculptor, painter and musician. He grew up in Utrecht and was educated at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and Rijksakandamie van Beeldende Kunsten (State Academy of Fine Arts) in Amsterdam. From 1980 on, he works as an autonomous artist, inspired by Pablo Picasso, Marino Marini and Ossop Zadkine. In 1980, he designed the Gouden Kalf, the trophy for the Dutch Film Festival.
