About the artist

Wim Burger was a Dutch artist from Amsterdam. He studied at Vrije Academie in Amsterdam where he was a student of Jos Rovers and W.A. Wassenaar. He received a scholarschip from the Dutch government in 1965 and traveled through Europe, visiting Israël, Italy, Yugoslavia, Spain and France. He was an active painter, draftsman and watercolourist, often figurative. He has also produced abstract paintings. Burger was a member of St. Lucas in Amsterdam and was first secretary of art association 'De Brug' in Amsterdam. He passed away in 1999 at age 86.
