- About the artist
Jasper van den Ham (Lelystad, 1978) is a Dutch artist whose work explores the essence of places that have made a deep impression on him, weaving together elements of nature, memory and emotion. Originally trained as a fine art photographer, he discovered his passion for drawing and painting a few years ago.
His childhood was marked by frequent relocations due to his father's work. These experiences have influenced his artistic approach, in which he combines memories of various places into new, non-existent landscapes. Nature plays a prominent role in his work, with special attention to trees and plants that he considers as living beings with a unique energy and character.
Van den Ham's paintings are built up of multiple layers and carefully chosen colours to capture the atmosphere and emotion of these environments. He avoids depicting specific locations; instead, his works merge memories and impressions of different places into new, partly real, partly imaginary landscapes.
Jasper van den HamHis work has been exhibited at various art fairs and exhibitions, including KunstRAI and Art on Paper in Amsterdam. He is also represented by Contempo Gallery in Rotterdam. With a growing presence on social media, he shares his artistic process and upcoming exhibitions with a wide audience.
