- About the artwork9.5-cm enamel dial with Roman numerals signed Angevin A Paris and fine ormolu hands, 8-day spring driven movement with anchor escapement and silk suspended pendulum, countwheel half hour striking on a bell, finely cast and chiseled gilt bronze case shaped as an urn, surmounted by a gallery of arches on a stiff leaf border, drum case with cable mounts, the sides with high reliefs of discus throwers and at the back a caduceus (staff of Mercury), the base with a fine pierced leaf ornament over a finely engraved rim surmounted on claw feet.
