- About the artist
Juul Neumann was a Dutch painter from Amsterdam. He was mostly autodidact and received weekly art lessons from Ger Gerrits, a local artist. The subjects of his paintings are landscapes and cityscapes. As he aged, his work got more abstract, influenced by Cubism, eventually resulting in a geometric style. He was a member of multiple artist associations, such as De Onafhankelijken and Vrije Beelden with whom he exhibited his art in the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
