- About the artist
The Belgian painter Maurice Paul was born in 1889 in Mons (Bergen) in Belgium. After his education, traveling back and forth between Brussels, Ostend and the French Côte d'Azur, he found the motives he was looking for: the apparently innocent rhythmic arrangement of the brightly colored houses, the crowded village squares, the colorful harbors and the bathers on the beach. His work is smoothly set up, colorful and bears the characteristics of traditional impressionism in his attention to the representation of light at all times of the day. 1889-1965
