About the Artist

Victor Amalric Walter was a French master of pâte de verre, an artistic method for which small granules are mixed with a binding material to create a “glass paste”. This paste is then applied within a mould and fired at a specific temperature to create a hollow glass sculpture. Amalric Walter worked for the famous Daum studio in Nancy, the only crystal manufacturer to use this particular technique.
