  • About the artist

Rob van Leeuwen lives in Noordwijk and was born in Westzaan in 1959. He started his career as an aircraft ground engineer at KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines) which gave him the opportunity exploring the world. A deep respect and fascination for the beauty of nature was born here, together with the need to share this in an artistic way. As an self-taught visual artist he developed his own technique to express himself. The connection with the earth plays a major role in his work. He uses natural materials like sand, clay, lime, wood and stone. The four elements earth, water, fire and air can even manifest themselves in the literal sense. In 2014 Van Leeuwen started the panta rhei project which comprised different materials originating from the source of the River Rhine. His work has been shown in the Netherlands and abroad, among others Amsterdam, The Hague, Noordwijk, Milan (Italy), Bhadus (Swiss). Rob van Leeuwen’s work is in several private collections.
