Peter Engelen (1962, Tilburg) is a Dutch sculptor and draughtsman. He trained at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (Academy of Arts) Utrecht from 1988 to 1990, and at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Tilburg from 1990 to 1991. He studied under Christina Nijland and was influenced by the sculptures of Theresia van der Pant and L.A. Barye. Engelen mainly produces bronze sculptures of horses and felines. His drawings include landscapes and nudes. Engelen was active in Great Britain, Amsterdam (Artis), and Utrecht. He made study trips to Berlin, Bristol and Paris. His works were presented at TEFAF, PAN, Art Fair The Hague and other fairs. He has had an exhibition of his animal sculptures in Teylers Musem in Haarlem in 2000.
