About the artist
Martijn Gijsbertsen (1973) graduated from the Photo Academy in Amsterdam, with the photo series “Same Time Same Place”. The international Pride Photo Award rewarded this series with the second prize. Portrait series are the trademark of the photographer.
His work has been published in the newspapers Trouw, Het Parool and NRC Handelsblad, as well as in Quote. He works for the VU University Amsterdam, Reuma Nederland, Amsterdam UMC and various commercial clients, communication and advertising agencies. A selection of his work is exhibited and sold through Okker Art Gallery in Amsterdam, and he is represented by the Hollandse Hoogte photo agency.
