About the Artist
Theo Vos was a Dutch sculptor who was born and raised in Groningen. He was a student at the Minerva Academy in Groningen and in Brussels he wasa pupil of CH. Rousseau. Afterwards he went to Paris for a few years and to other international cities. Finally he settled in Haarlem. He was a member of the Amsterdamse Arti et Amicitiae, Vereniging van Beeldende Kunstenaars De Onafhankelijken. He was a member of the Amsterdamse School movement. The Amsterdam School movement is part of international Expressionist architecture, sometimes linked to German Brick Expressionism. He died in 1948 in Haarlem.
