About the Artist

Pierre-Charles Canot born around the year of 1710 in Paris in France. He died around 1777 in England.
Canot was known as an engraver from French origin, however he lived most of his live in England.
In 1740 Canot moved to England and lived there for the rest of his life.
In 1770 he was elected as an Associate Engraver of the Royal Academy in London.
His works include a large number of engravings of amongst many subjects landscapes and the sea.
Canot's works of the maritime subjects were very much respected.
Pierre-Charles Canot died in 1777 at Kentish Town near London.
