The Frisian visual artist Anne-Rixt Kuik (1987) lives and works in Kampen where she has her studio.
She completed a 5-year study of painting at the Classical Academy and studied at the Florence Academy of Art to learn the techniques of classical figurative painting.
She also took master classes with artists Sam Drukker, Henk Helmantel and Jeremy Lipking. She also studied in Brisbane, Australia, to further develop her own technique there.
Once back in the Netherlands, she worked on her series that shows a surprising and unique combination of fresco technique, layering and alla prima.
In both her portraits and free work, Anne-Rixt focuses on people in all their individuality, fragility and beauty.
