Henk Schuring was a Dutch abstract expressionistic painter from Zwolle. He spent most of his lifetime as a graphic designer, until he decided to become a painter. Even though he was a autodidact, he won multiple prizes for his art and was even featured in expositions in the 'Stedelijk Museum' in Amsterdam. Schuring tried to establish a relation between architecture and art, which resulted in architectural drawings of entire city districts. Later in his life, Schuring mostly produced three-dimensional polyester sculptures. He is well-represented in many museums and collections.
