- About the artworkOrbital is a digital art on light box (UVI print on backlit textile).
“Drawing becomes for me a way of approaching the origin and structure of form and matter. In my works I want to convey an idea of movement and energy in transformation, through forms that are born or disintegrate as part of a continuous process of creation and disappearance. Each form grows and evolves in itself and is organised into increasingly complex systems. Everything is interrelated as part of a global network. Imagining the origin of forms and matter also raises a broader reflection on the mystery of life and man’s connection to the universe. The answers that man has given from different fields such as science, thought or spirituality inspire many of my works.” - Albert Espona - About the artist
Albert Espona is an artist who combines different digital creation techniques, such as programming, video or design software. His work is inspired by science and nature and explores the formal possibilities of light and movement through light boxes, video projections or digital art printed on different media.
He studied at the Massana school in Barcelona where he obtained a degree in graphic design. He has worked as a graphic designer and has created illustrations for the newspapers Avui and La Vanguardia, and for publishers such as La Galera. In 2003 he founded his own design studio. He is a recognized visual artist that has presented his work in group and individual exhibitions and featured in several important collections.
