Davy & Kristin McGuire are multi-award winning mixed reality artists, internationally renowned for their idiosyncratic experiments in digital projection, immersive art and storytelling. Their works have been exhibited, sold, published and screened internationally, and their critically acclaimed theatrical projects have been invited to tour to more than 100 venues in 25 different countries over 4 continents.
Drawing on Davy’s background in theatre and Kristin’s career as a dancer for Cirque du Soleil and many other international companies, the couple have an eclectic portfolio:
The couple’s work has included the world‘s first projection mapped pop-up book The Icebook; a multimedia stage adaptation of fantasy novel, Howl’s Moving Castle; and The Paper Architect which won the Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award 2013 and received the Helpmann Award for Best Visual Theatre Production after touring Australia in 2015.
Crossing genres of theatre, film, live performance and installations the McGuires have been commissioned by organisations such as The Royal Shakespeare Company, Hull UK City of Culture 2017, Canal+, Museums at Night, the Swedish Museum of Performing Arts, London International Mime Festival and the Projection Mapping Association of Japan.
Their large scale immersive projection installation A Night at the Mansion, commissioned by Harewood House, was awarded Innovation of the Year by the Museum & Heritage Awards in 2020.
Their commercial installations include Kingdom of Dreams for Dior at Harrods, Floating City for Barneys’ Madison Avenue; Alchimie de Courvoisier for Courvoisier at Harrods; and Precious Moments for Mikimoto in Tokyo which won the Japan Space Design Association Award and the Ginza Association Division Excellence Award.The couple has also created commercial films for ELLE China and Courvoisier, and music videos for international music labels such as Polydor and Epitaph Records.
