Ginou Choueiri, born in Beirut, is a Lebanese interdisciplinary artist. After completing a degree in Marketing at the University of Connecticut, she returned to Beirut to work with Saatchi and Saatchi Advertising. Seven years later Ginou finally decided to pursue her passion for painting and travelled to Barcelona to participate in Metafora’s International Art Workshop for four years. In 2008 she returned to Beirut. Her art is a personal exploration of the human psyche, longing and desire. She uses a visual language that is inspired by children fairy tales, pop culture, Jungian archetypes and urban art. Navigating between the inner and outer, reality and dream, visible and invisible, it is in the ‘in between’ where the work resides. Her work has been published all around the world and exhibited internationally in places such as the Contemporary Cultural Center of Barcelona (BCN, Spain), Mario Merz Foundation (Turin, Italy), The Williamsburg Art and Historical Center (New York, USA ), and Mark Hachem Gallery (Beirut Lebanon).
