- About the artworkRARE PAIR OF MING DYNASTY ZHANGZHOU OR SWATOW CHARGERS. This rare pair of Swatow chargers in the famous "split pagoda" decor dates from circa 1620. This type of chargers were produced in China for the Islamic market. A similar charger is in the collection of Princessehof, Leeuwarden , the Netherlands. The famous porcelain dealer Jorge Welsh (Lisbon/London) sold a whole collection of similar chargers to the Peabody Essex Museum in Massachusetts in the USA.
