Lita van Engelenhoven is a Dutch painter who studied at the School of the Arts in Utrecht. She mostly paints landscapes, still-lifes and portraits. The past years, van Engelenhoven decided to in paint more artisan manner, rather than to paint as a physical activity. She creates layered paintings, working with colour and light an dark, where we find a clear interest in landscape painting in an almost Fauvist manner. She states that capturing the atmosphere of something is of greater importance than depicting reality. Her works can be found in multiple galleries.
