Michael Jansen is a sculptor who primarily works with slate. He was born in 1959 in Utrecht and studied at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht. Afterwards he began to work as an artist and started to give lectures in drawing, painting and art history. He currently lives and works in Amersfoort. One important work of art he made in commission was a wooden sculpture ﬂoating on water, in spite its 400 kg weight. His work has been enclosed in private- and corporate collections. Jansen’s sculptures has been exhibited in the Netherlands as well as in France and the United Kingdom.
