About the Artist

Satijn Panyigay (Nijmegen, 1988), full name Stellatara Satijn Töhötöm Panyigay, is a Dutch-Hungarian photographer. From 2006 to 2010, she studied at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (Academy of Arts) in Utrecht, where she received her Bachelor of Design Photography. She shows her melancholic view on life. Her subject matters are decay and loneliness. In 2010, she was nominated for the Photo Academy Award. Since then she had numerous exhibitions, for instance: Graduates Photography 2010, Amsterdam Centrum voor Fotografie (ACF); UNSEEN Photo Fair (group exhibition), Huize Frankendael, 2014; AMSTERDAMSEEN, Kunsthal Citroën, Amsterdam, 2015; Grace and Ruin (group exhibition, with Miho Kajioka and Marieke Peters), Seelevel Gallery, Amsterdam, 2016.
