About the artist
Peter van den Borne is a Dutch artist and teacher specializing in Classical Modern Realism and the craft of fine painting. In his work and teaching, he connects traditional painting techniques with a contemporary, personal approach to image and meaning.
With a deep-rooted knowledge of classical composition, the use of light, and mastery of materials, Van den Borne focuses not only on technical perfection but also, and perhaps even more so, on the maker's inner process. His practice revolves around attention, slowing down, and developing perception—both visual and mental.
As a teacher, he guides artists and students in refining their craftsmanship as well as their personal development. He views painting as a means to awareness: a way to look more sharply, feel better, and create more authentically.
His work is characterized by precision, stillness, and a subtle tension between reality and interpretation, where the craft serves as the foundation for a deeper, more reflective visual language.
