Martine de Ruiter already got great satisfaction from painting during her Editing & Design studies in Amsterdam.
Now a full-time painter and designer, she creates art that can best be described as abstracted expressionist.
In the overall picture, Martine de Ruiter strives for the suggestion of growth and movement of the flora. She uses a self-developed painting technique with palette pieces, which contribute to that suggestion.
She herself came up with the name 'palette pieces' for these uniquely composed, mixed and dried color combinations that she contrasts with her palette.
This technique gives her work relief, sharp contrast and a unique style.
