About the artist
Ad Kikkert was an impressionist painter. He was educated at the art academy in Rotterdam and was also taught by H.F. Boat in Haarlem. Kikkert painted landscapes, still lifes, cityscapes, river landscapes, harbor views and interiors. He lived and worked in Rotterdam for a large part of his life, but also made several trips to Turkey and France.
Ad Kikkert was a member of the Association of The Hague Watercolorists (1955-1995) and the painting society Pulchri Studio in The Hague.
He has exhibited both at home and abroad and is represented in numerous collections of institutions, companies and private individuals.
The main subjects he painted were landscape (as a genre), still life, cityscape, river landscape, interiors and others.
