Henk Visch is a Dutch sculptor, graphic artist and draughtsman. He studied at the Royal Academy of Art in 's-Hertogenbosch from 1968 to 1972. From 1974 to 1982 he worked as a draftsman and etcher in Boxtel. In 1982 he stayed at Atelier PS I in New York. In 1983 Visch gained fame with his sculptures, which he exhibited in Eindhoven and in the Livingroom gallery in Amsterdam.
Between 1984 and 1987 Henk Visch studied at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, and from 1987 to 1991 he taught at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht. From 1995 to 2001 he was a professor at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart, and from 2005 he taught at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Münster. In the summer of 2013, Visch was a guest lecturer at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing.
In 1988 he represented the Dutch pavilion at the Venice Biennale, and in 1992 he was invited to participate in Documenta IX in Kassel. Between 1996 and 2011 Visch made drawings for the Volkskrant. His versatile work has brought him national and international recognition, and he remains an influential figure in the contemporary art world.
