Béla Kádár (1877–1956) fue un pintor húngaro influenciado por Der Blaue Reiter, el cubismo, el futurismo, el neoprimitivismo, el constructivismo y la pintura metafísica.
Kádár nació en una familia judía de clase trabajadora. Después de solo seis años de escolaridad, fue aprendiz de tornero de hierro. Comenzó a pintar murales en Budapest. Visitó París y Berlín en 1910 y en 1918 se había mudado a Europa occidental.
Tuvo su primera exposición importante en octubre de 1923 en la Galerie Der Sturm de Herwarth Walden, en Berlín, mostrando obras de estilo expresionista. Durante la exposición conoció a Katherine Dreier, quien realizó dos exposiciones de su trabajo en el Museo de Arte de Brooklyn en la ciudad de Nueva York, a la segunda de las cuales, en septiembre de 1928, asistió Kádár.
