    Extra information: Boucheron - A leading French jewelry firm, founded in 1858 in the Palais Royal, Paris, by Frédéric Boucheron (1830-1902) and now having its main establishment at 26 Place VendOme, Paris, with branches in London and elsewhere.Frédéric Boucheron was succeeded by his son Louis (1874-1959), in turn succeeded by his son Gerard (b. 1910), whose son Alain (b. 1948) is now active in the business.     Boucheron est une maison de joaillerie française fondée en 1858 par Frédéric Boucheron. Le joaillier travaillait avec une large gamme d'ors ainsi que des pierres précieuses comme les rubis et les péridots. Ses bijoux s'inspirent de motifs naturels comme le serpent, qui deviendra plus tard le symbole de la maison. La première boutique Boucheron a été créée en 1858 dans la Galerie de Valois au Palais Royal à Paris. Les années suivantes, Frédéric Boucheron ouvre un atelier et commence à travailler avec son neveu, Georges Radius. Le jeu des formes, les manipulations de la matière et les combinaisons de pierres précieuses ont trouvé leur public à la fin du XIXe siècle. Boucheron attire désormais une clientèle d'écrivains, d'artistes et de princes. À la mort de Fédéric Boucheron en 1902, son fils, Louis, reprend la maison. En tant qu'héritier, il contribue au développement de la marque, en dépassant les frontières de la France. Il ouvre une succursale à Moscou et établit également une collaboration avec le jeune joaillier Pierre Sterlé. En 1954, ce sont ses enfants, Fred et Gérard Boucheron, qui reprennent la marque. Conservant le savoir-faire hérité, ils implantent la marque au Japon dans les années 1970, époque à laquelle Jane Birkin pose de manière célèbre en tenant un collier de diamants Boucheron. Alain Boucheron prend la tête de l'entreprise en 1971, et en 2000, le groupe Gucci acquiert la maison de joaillerie Boucheron. Sous la direction de Jean-Christophe Bedos, de nouvelles boutiques sont inaugurées dans le monde entier. En 2007, Boucheron est le premier joaillier à ouvrir une boutique de commerce électronique en Europe. En 2011, Claire Choisne est nommée directrice de la création de la maison de joaillerie de la place Vendôme. Après un siècle et demi, la maison de joaillerie Boucheron est devenue une référence importante de la haute joaillerie et de l'horlogerie.
