Hans Wilt (Vienna, 1867 – Vienna, 1917) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist, known for his atmospheric landscapes, historical scenes and sensitive portraits. His work falls within the broader context of Austrian late romanticism and the fin de siècle, and shows a refined sense of atmosphere, detail and light effects. Although he is less well-known outside Austria, he is appreciated in his native country as an artist with a strong poetic and craftsmanlike signature.

Wilt was educated at the prestigious Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna, where he was taught in the academic tradition, but at the same time developed his own, more personal style.
