  • About the artist

Imade “Romi” Sukadana was born on January 22, 1973, in Denpasar, Bali. He studied visual arts at the Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) in Denpasar, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2000. Since 1993, he has been active as an artist and has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, both in Bali and internationally, including in Frankfurt, Jakarta, and Sanur.

His first solo exhibition, Sides of Woman, took place in 2001 at the Paros Gallery in Sukawati. Later exhibitions included Dialogue with Reality in Ubud, Sebuah Nama in Sanur, and the Hidden Connection series in Denpasar and Jakarta. His work has also been shown in international exhibitions such as Hidden Code and Magic of Bali in Frankfurt.

Romi’s art moves between realism and abstraction, developing his own distinctive style with vibrant colors and symbolism. He draws inspiration from both Balinese culture and universal themes, and his paintings often depict a dialogue between reality and inner experience. His works have found their way into private and public collections and are also regularly offered at national and international auctions.
