Framed dimensions: 62 x 73 cm - About the artist
Antoon Kruysen (1898–1977) was a great Dutch sign, Vienna's work was noted in a striking, directly recognizable expressionist style. Born in the Brabantse land and later long-durig werkzaam in France, he was born in two years in the world of art and culture: de Aardse, vaak ingetogen sfeer van het Zuid-Nederlandse leven en de vrijere, meer uitgesproken artistieke traditie van het fringe modernisme.
Kruysen developed a picture that was in front of the color and an autonomous force. Zijn bilderijen - varying van landscapes and villages, as well as interiors, stillevens and figuurstukken - zijn doordrongen van an innerlijke spanning. With stable contours, a required penseelvoering and a rijk, soms donker palet has alldaagse onderwerpen te verheffen dead loaded, bijna monumentale voorstellingen. Zijn work is less court op exacte weergave dan op het vangen van een onderliggende emotie of geestestoestand.
The band with Brabant bleef in their oeuvre voelbaar, in the Keuze voor motives and de ingetogen tonaliteit, terwijl zijn verblijf in France hem blootstelde aan nieuwende stromingen and a vrijere omgang met vorm en compositie. This combination combines two works with two balances of traditional and expressive vernieuwing.
Kruysen bouwde geurende zijn leven a solid reputation op, zowel in Nederland als daarbuiten. This work will be protected from its authenticity and intensity, and will be carried out by a number of artists, which will consequently follow its own path, in the modes of stromingen. To this day, Antoon Kruysen is an intriguing figure within the Netherlands' modern sign art, with an oeuvre that is powerful, concentrated in a diep gevoelde verbondenheid with its original design.
