  • About the artist
Christian Ibink is the founder and artist behind MAIM Amsterdam — a contemporary art label transforming discarded solar panels into high-end statement pieces. Working from his studio in Amsterdam, Christian creates artworks that combine sustainability, innovation, and luxury aesthetics.

Each MAIM artwork starts with an original solar panel that has often spent more than 20 years on rooftops before reaching the end of its lifecycle. Rather than allowing these materials to become waste, Christian gives them a second life through art. The original solar cells remain visible within the work, creating a distinctive visual identity that reflects both technology and history.

Finished with MAIM’s signature high-tech gloss, the artworks balance raw industrial materials with refined craftsmanship. The result is a collection of unique pieces that feel modern, bold, and timeless at the same time.

Through MAIM, Christian aims to challenge the way we think about consumption and waste. His artworks are designed not only to elevate interiors, but also to start conversations — about circularity, innovation, and the value of reimagining existing materials instead of constantly producing new ones.

Today, MAIM artworks are collected by design lovers, entrepreneurs, luxury interior enthusiasts, and companies looking for meaningful statement pieces with a story behind them. Every artwork is one of one, carrying its own texture, character, and past life.

MAIM stands for My Art Is Mine — reflecting the idea that art should feel personal, emotionally connected, and deeply aligned with the identity of the person who owns it.
