- About the artwork"MicroRockFormation Bronze 007 (Ed.5/8)" is a fixed formation, polished-mirror and patinated bronze cast
Artist, technician, photographer, designer, video artist: Arik Levy’s skills are multi-disciplinary. His work is shown and installed worldwide. Best known publicly for his sculptures, his installations, limited editions and design, Levy nevertheless feels that “the world is about people, not objects.” Initially, Levy's sculptures might bring our minds out to space, underground, to the depths of the sea even. However, when observing closer, one cannot deny it, his creations are not 'like' nature, they are better than nature: smooth surfaces, perfect dimensions, ideal geometry. This artwork captures the essence of Levy’s new, but familiar nature. He invites us to his world and gives us space to be present, take awareness of our body and to reconsider our space in this world of perfect nature. - About the artist
Arik Levy (b. 1963) is an Israeli-born multidisciplinary artist and industrial designer whose work bridges the worlds of art, design, and architecture. Based in Paris, Levy has built an international reputation for his ability to translate natural forms into precise, contemporary objects and environments. His practice spans sculpture, installation, product design, lighting, and large-scale public commissions, reflecting a deep curiosity about the relationship between human perception, material, and space.
Levy is best known for his iconic “Rock” series, composed of mirror-polished stainless steel sculptures that resemble faceted natural stones. These works act as both objects and environments: they fragment and reflect their surroundings, inviting viewers to become part of the artwork itself. By merging organic inspiration with industrial precision, Levy explores themes of geology, time, and transformation, while questioning how we perceive reality through reflection and distortion.
Before establishing his studio in Paris, Levy studied industrial design in Switzerland and gained early experience in Japan, where he was influenced by craftsmanship and minimalism. This cross-cultural background continues to inform his approach, combining technical rigor with poetic sensibility. Alongside his artistic practice, he has collaborated with leading brands on furniture, lighting, and product design, further blurring the boundaries between functional design and sculptural expression.
Levy’s works are exhibited worldwide in galleries, museums, and public spaces, where they often function as landmarks that engage directly with their environment. Across all disciplines, his work is unified by a consistent exploration of structure, surface, and the dialogue between nature and the built world.
