Adriaan la Riviere (1857, Rotterdam – 1941, Rotterdam), also spelled Adriaan la Rivière, Adriaan de la Rivière, full name Adrianus Philippus de la Rivière, was a Dutch painter, aquarellist, and draughtsman. He trained at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten (Academy of Fine Arts) Rotterdam.
He also has been a teacher at this Academy for some time. He painted figures, interiors, landscapes, cityscapes, still lifes and portraits. He was active from 1872 to 1941. He lived in Rotterdam, Amsterdam (1887), The Hague (1893 and later), Leur (1898-1899), München (1899-1900). In 1897, he received a Royal Scholarship from King Willem III, which enabled him to study in München and Italy. After his return, he produced numerous important paintings that were highly appreciated. In 1894, De la Rivière became a committee member of the Kunstkring Rotterdam. He exhibited several times, for example in the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam in 1899. He was a teacher of Reyer van der Borden and Lizzy Goddard.
