Peter Bol, born in 1947 in Eindhoven, is a Dutch painter known for his expressive style and vibrant use of color. As the son of renowned painter Kees Bol, he was immersed in the world of art at a young age. His father often took him outside to paint, where Peter learned the art of observation and daydreaming.

Bol studied at the Academy of Fine Arts St. Joost in Breda. His work is characterized by bright color combinations and the use of impasto, a technique in which the paint is applied in thick layers, making the texture clearly visible. He focuses mainly on landscapes and (flower) still lifes.

In his paintings, Bol strives to capture everyday beauty. He sees painting as a way to experience the unity of things and to escape the transience of the moment. His approach is intuitive and spontaneous, observing nature and translating it into powerful and tender compositions.

Through his unique approach and dedication to his craft, Peter Bol has acquired a distinctive place in Dutch painting. His work invites the viewer to look at the world with new eyes and discover the beauty in the everyday.
